SHAYNE WARD NEW FACE OF CK UNDERWEAR?

    By Andrea Clarke

X FACTOR winner Shayne Ward is being lined up as the new face of Calvin Klein underwear.
The hunky 22-year-old, who releases his new single, If That's OK With You, next month, has reportedly been offered a £750,000 one -year deal after the company saw a portfolio of photographs.
According to the Daily Star, the big wigs at Calvin Klein think Shayne could have the same effect as Mark Wahlberg did a decade ago, showing off his finely-honed torso in a string of ads.
The sexy star, who’s parents are Irish, has adopted a new fitness regime going to the gym five-times-a-week to get trim for the ads.
If the deal is confirmed, Shayne will replace Arsenal footballer, Freddie Ljungberg, who's famously modelled for the brand.
An insider told the Star: "Shayne's latest set of pictures for us are bombshell stuff”.

    By Andrea Clarke
    Photos by Fabrizio Belluschi
HOLLYOAKS star Gerard McCarthy made a surprise visit to new Belfast shop Playground, as it opened its doors to the public last week.
The exclusive VIP opening of the fun fashion store saw guests sipping champagne and shopping while DJ Jay Kay set the mood on his decks.
Fashonistas enjoyed browsing the rails at the Upper Queen Street shop, purchasing some of the high fashion clothes, shoes and accessories available with 15 per cent discount.
Belfast actor, Gerard McCarthy, who plays Kris Fisher in the hit soap, is a big fan of Playground and was overheard telling fellow shoppers that he wasn’t going to look at the clothes because every time he comes into the shop there is just so much to choose from, he spends a fortune.
Playground carries labels usually worn exclusively by celebrities or on trendies from London, and were an instant hit with Belfast shoppers.

White is the new black this Spring

    By Andrea Clarke

SPRING has arrived, the sun is shining and it’s out with the dark and in with the bright...well white that is.
White has graced the catwalks of some of fashion’s top designers this Spring and now it has made it’s way to Brazil in Donegall Arcade, Belfast in the form of Canadian designer Tara Jarmon.
The collection is the perfect balance of sophistication and femininity that features so prominently this season.
The Tara Jarmon collection, featured in Brazil, exudes Parisian style with classic lines and elegance, it is the embodiment of a pure feminine simplicity.
Tara Jarmon is synonymous with smart and comfortable pieces, coloured and sexy but never provocative, embellished with details such as embroidery, a bow, a flower, sober cuts, in sweet and silky materials like muslin, cotton, satin, velvet.
In short, a line which is perfectly adapted to a modern, elegant, self-confident, dynamic woman.
The Canadian-born student arrived in Paris 20 years ago, at the age of 23, with drive, ambition and spirit.
Unlike many of her design counterparts, Tara had studied international affairs and had no training in the fashion world, just an innate artist talent.
She married David Jarmon and the two launched the Tara Jarmon brand.
Surrounded by Paris’s bohemian atmosphere of the early 80s, the designer embraced her surroundings and began creating imaginative and whimsical collections.
Taking her inspiration from her roles as a wife, mother and athlete, Tara created designs for the modern woman.
Feminine, flirty, chic, Tara Jarmon’s true passion for life is evident in her delightfully creative collections.

    It’s a man’s world at Selfridges

    By Andrea Clarke

SELFRIDGES have created a fashion haven for men, incorporating the female concept of mixing high-end pieces with high-street bargains.
Adding an additional 20,000 square feet of retail space, The Men’s Expansion makes Selfridges the first department store to offer men a choice of labels as diverse as Topman to Lanvin.
The newly opened area also holds underwear, moved up from the ground floor, and an expanded swimwear department stocking the likes of Aussiebum, Calvin Klein and Grigio Perla, the latter worn famously by Daniel Craig in Casino Royale.
To celebrate the new men’s one-stop-shop, Selfridges will stage its first ever men-only scheme, Mensworld, from May 4 to June 21.
Working in collaboration with renowned-booksellers, Foyles, Selfridges will create a graphic window scheme including literary quotes from a host of well-know men.
In addition to the windows, the store will be stocking a selection of innovative products created especially for the scheme and a number of exclusive capsule collections from the likes of Topman, Junk Deluxe, Richard James and Kilgour.
Exclusive items will include a new Levis prototype, Comme des Garcons slogan t-shirts and Vivienne Westwood swimwear, through to patent Birkenstocks and a new Y3 trainer.
